The gentle lull of the sea, the whistling breeze, and the rustling of the palm fronds on the beach will help transcend you from the hurly-burly rigours of daily life.
This aural feast, complimented by an all colourful visual one, where the turquoise of the lagoon, the lush green vegetation, the pearl white beaches, azure blue sky and generous offerings of golden sunshine inspires in us the question, did heaven and earth meet?

We spent 7 wonderful nights at this resort in January. We had booked through holidayexotic.co.uk who specialize in Maldives & Sri Lanka and had the best price on offer. This was our first long trip with an infant and we were a bit apprehensive. Thankfully, our travel agents were knowledgeable and enabled us to select this island resort with confidence by providing details of its family-friendly setup and childcare facilities.
The resort was a 15-20 min speed boat ride away from the airport. On arrival we were offered iced tea, were swiftly checked in and taken to the standard room we had booked. After the long flight, it was nice to be able to get to the room and relax for a bit.
Our room was fairly spacious and spotlessly clean. It was, like all others, set out facing the ocean. The housekeeping staff kept it consistently neat and tidy during our stay, with a second “turndown” cleaning service ensuring the room was spotless when we returned after dinner. Loved it! The turndown service also places a copy of “Bandos Daily”, a newsletter that provides details of the excursions & festivities on offer the next day, with a bit of local trivia and history on the side. A nice touch that helps you plan for the next day. We were also provided one complementary bottle of mineral water per person per day which was quite helpful.
The beach was beautiful and pristine as expected. There are loads of sunbeds all around the island resort, pretty much one set to a room. There are also plenty of activities and excursions every day. We had to forgo a number of them due to the baby, but we still had plenty to occupy us. Our dolphin cruise was the highlight, with a school of dolphins swimming alongside the boat at times and performing tricks.
We loved our meals in the Gallery restaurant. The food was delicious, and there was huge variety on offer. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They provided highchairs, baby dining sets and colourful baby food mats to make mealtimes fun and pleasant. There were plenty of other families with kids and meals were quite fun. The special meal on the last day was a nice touch.
The Sand Bar is right by the jetty and featured live music (most days) or some other entertainment every night. We ended up relaxing there with a drink and the music after dinner on most days. Sundowner bar/cafe was another lovely place with outside seating to relax and unwind in the evening.
It was the most amazing vacation we’ve had in years and years and Bandos was just perfect. Will definitely return when we can.
